I really like the message in this well-crafted senryu, and I like your choice of artwork. And, you're right ... once injurious words are spoken, the 'damage is done.'
This is a great contest entry, and I truly wish you the very best.

Thanks for reviewing! We always remember how people made us feel, even if no blood is drawn.

The idea of words hurting someone has been way over done. Likening them to barbs or swords is nothing new whatsoever. I'd rather see more of an example of how words can hurt people. Nothing novel here.

Thanks for having a look anyway.
I figured I had used examples of how words can hurt: by using the word barbs, as in taunts and mean-spirited language, by speaking sharply, by using spiteful, pointed remarks.

You did. But the words and concepts are played. It's phoning it in. But you're not alone in this, as that's what the majority of people do here. Anyway, have a nice day. Starbucks time.

You are so right, (be impeccable in your word) is the best advice I have been given, all too often we say or write something that hurts without realising it, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thanks for reviewing, Dolly. It's hard to remedy a hurt inflicted unknowingly - some people can be overly sensitive, but a hurt inflicted on purpose is a terrible thing.
