heat is all relevant to where you are at the moment
I am leaving Las Vegas and returning East. Night time temps are over 100
yes FanArt picture was awesome

A very well written 5-7-5 poem and an awesome picture.
O yes I can relate to, we have the second heat wave in a short time here,
it feels like desert heat...

Yes, the heat wave is where you are at this moment.
I was at bridge tourney in Las Vegas where night time temps easily exceed 100
pleased the FanArt illustration attracted your attention

Thank you for sharing your thoughts through your poetry. Although it was short, I felt it made a profound statement. And, I also really liked the flow.

Thanks Sandra for your encouraging review. Pleased you liked this offering. 5-7-5 is my preferred writing style. My limited poetry skill has not expanded to any long verse - probably never will (-;

Well, Mark, we have all of what you wrote--heat many days over 100*, gopher hiding then reappearing then hiding and burrows everywhere. I enjoyed your 575. It reads smoothly with great imagery. Thanks for sharing. Jan

You can't blame them for staying in their burrow, Sand can get hot on a poor little gophers feet. Nice job making a 5-7-5 poem rhyme and make sense.

Earl,
Thanks for your review and comments.
If at the beach on a very hot day, sitting under an umbrella, you would want to cool your heels too.
