I enjoyed reading your philosophical write, Dr A. It seems to make perfect sense that there are two of them you cannot control ~ birth and death ~ but our reputation that follows afterwards, well.... it is our legacy.

All if your comments may be true. A man is born where and when a man is born, and it seems that he has no control of over the time and place where he is born.

Yes, time plays a part in his a man does, but I also feel choice, and unforseen circumstances, can determine when, and how, a man will die.

What a man does affects how he is remembered, or if he is forgotten.

Thanks for sharing.

I remember the saying that you are alluding to in your very wise poem. For the life of me I cannot remember who said it. Nevertheless your poem is full of wisdom.

I like the flow of free verse. I like the message. I like increasing my vocabulary, with the word seer. Yes, I did a google search. Learning the meaning of the word seer (a person who is supposed to be able, through supernatural insight, to see what the future holds.) This poem not only written well provides a teachable moment.

This is a striking poem with a striking illustration. I think that most people would like to leave something behind after their death that is a legacy. I suspect however, not many of us will see that happen. And, that's ok with me. Best wishes.

I enjoyed this little short piece of free-verse you have crafted. A ton said with few words, I like the style. The artwork is a nice addition but certainly not necessary. Your work can stand alone.
God bless

Yes, between birth and death, we do and say the things--some good, some bad--for which we will be remembered. We must bear in mind that,
when we die, memories of us don't.

A very well-written free verse poem. There are a few big events in our lives that we don't have any control over, one is our birth, another our death. The time between birth and death is up to us to make it memorable.

Hi there s a lot and f truth here...at least propositions that are acceptable. You surely take birth in a place that you deserve.
As for death well it will come but t at its own pace.
The most important are the action,...good actions bring their own benefits. And bad ones their own punishments.
