contest announcement refers to an 'object'. Usually, objects are defined as something 'tangible', something that is solid, visible, something you could touch. You might want to recheck the definition and edit if necessary.

You are correct, an object is indeed something tangible, that's solid and visible, Nor. I guess it's a good thing I have enough brains to know that I shouldn't enter an "Object" contest without an actual object. That would be the reason why this piece is entered into the "The One That Got Away" contest rather than the object contest, as per the contest listing page and the description of this piece. So I'm pretty sure I don't need to recheck the definition of object. I actually know what contest I entered and it wasn't the "Object" contest.. Thanks for the review and gracious stars, Nor.

I read this earlier but didn't have time to review until now. The thought crossed my mind that it seemed a bit long but I was having such a good time reading it that I forgot about it. Nothing deep sixes you (lol) like seeing those empty, outlined stars at the top of a review. Poor newbies. They don't realize that the explained rating system here is just bullshit.

I have been there on the well=received only to receive a 4 star review and knock it off permanently, too. You did a great job with your contest entry, Mystery Author. I enjoyed reading it. It flows well with great details. To shorten it, I would delete the paragraph about going to the pawn shop and then racing home. Also, the paragraph that begins /talks about losing 38 pounds maybe can go. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Jan

LMAO! I REALLY hope nobody actually takes this place THAT seriously. This is basically a vanity site for the most part where the really bad writing is the only thing that suffers as all else is given a five or better. Contests are a crap shoot and not worth worrying over. Rankings here don't mean a thing when submitting to a real publicist or publishing house (unless it is one that you are paying to publish for you). The benefit here is hooking up with other serious folk with realistic expectations. This was a hoot and should do well in the booth. Good luck in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.
