I really like your Essence poem, and think it is definitely worth six stars, but I have none :(
Exceptionally eye appealing; excellent choice of artwork; you made the words to you poem stand out with the particular font you used. It appears as if they were penned with a quill.
I loved the message of the poem. This would make a great print hanging over a writer's desk.
Your Essence is perfect with internal and ending rhyme and your two sentences of six syllables each.

The quill again. It is such a wonderful allusion which as you lead the reader is unknowingly coaxed into romantic times passed. This could be one of the monks copying the holy books. It reminds me of a very dark movie where monks are dying left and right having been poisoned by touching the ink. Of course, my imagination has to go there in response to a lovely poem? hmm.

What a lovely presentation! (virtual 6 from me) The oh-so-suitable font choice is perfect with the photo and your essence poem is one of the few in the contest that has the internal rhyme as requested. It captures 'the essence' of writing: skill combined with emotion.

Hey, Shy W, hello. Thank you so much for the fantastic review and giant sixer. It's actually pretty hard to say a lot with so few words and have it hold meaning. I always love a good challenge. Lol. When the contest is over, shoot me a message and I can email the pic to you if you'd really want it over your desk. I put it together in an art program. The quill brings back found memories of the crafting art. I remember many romantic letters and poems were written from the heart to lovers from a distance. Good luck in the essence poem contest.

Isn't that the truth? Some people seem to be quite lacking in the brains department. The rules are right there, plain as day...with an example to boot. Hopefully some day stupidity will be fatal. Wouldn't that be great? Lol. Thank you for the fantastic review and good luck wishes, Lynda. I seriously doubt if this prompt ever makes it to booth, unless the committee has thirty eight thousand, nine hundred and fourteen people to explain to the simpletons how a simple essence poem works. This is such a writer's poem, so descriptive of what writing means to the poet and author. Both your internal and external rhymes work perfectly, and matching a quill pen and ink photo with a calligraphic font was an excellent finishing touch.
