This is a delightfully delicious light and sweet deception and I love it. That baklava is certainly a treat to fall in love with and particularly with the one you love.
Great job with this contest entry and best of luck to you in the booths.

Thank you, Hitcher. You are what you eat, after all!

I'm one of the few people in the world who does not like the taste of honey, and so I'm not a big fan of baklava and yet, after reading your poem, my mouth is watering. You made verbal love to the food in such a sensual and inviting way. I would never have thought of baklava as the subject of a love poem but, with your vivid descriptions and appeals to the senses, you absolutely made it work. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks! I appreciate this validating review.

My pleasure (although I resent the 10 lbs. I put on just reading it)!
-
That's funny.

Really?? My scale doesn't think so. It says a few more pounds and it's calling its lawyer and claiming abuse!

I love baklava! And you have perfectly captured in your delightful piece the glorious way the honeyed pastry melts in your tour mouth and slowly dribbles down your throat. Now I want some!

I love Baklava, my mother in law was Greek and she made the best, However, she never poured cream on hers as you show in the picture. Is that a special sauce?

I don't know; that's a picture from Shutterstock. But it sure makes it look even MORE scrumptious, I think.
Thanks very much for the great review.

Sweet for sure, but when I tried baklava, it wasn't really light! I can forgive you that for this delightful little piece singing the praises of this wonderful middle-eastern treat.
Clever use of rhyme and shorter than usual lines to keep this tripping along to match the theme. Will you get away with writing a romance poem to food? I hope so!

We'll have to wait and see, I guess! I DID have the forbearance to write "Love comes in many forms." Maybe that will help me squeak into the contest. Stay tuned.

Drizzling things is a very modern term, so to put it in a poem is a marvellous thing to follow, because of its provocative meaning, it's a descriptive terminology is very fetching. Well done, a great entry in this contest, blessings, Roy

I haven't had this delicious treat since I left the state of New York. My dear polish friends made the best. They even served it for breakfast.
Sending you my best today as always,

I, too, love baklava and always get it when there is a Greek festival here. This tasty treat really is a sweet form of love and I wish you the best with your writing prompt entry.

A very creative contest entry. The confection is light and sweet, very sweet.
Really good description of savouring this treat. Subtly erotic, along the lines of the food scene in Tom Jones.
Good luck in the prompt.
Blessings Julia

I missed that scene. Sounds like I might need to visit Net Flix soon.
Thanks for the review.

You've got to see it. Iconic.
