I know of an African Grey who was very observant and loved to annoy the dachshund. The dachshund was named Peanut because he resembled one. If anyone came to the door or rang the bell the parrot would call out to the dog... Peanut, Peanut, Peanut. He would go on until the dog would go to the door and start barking. Then he would start to laugh like a human and the dog would get mad. How he loved to annoy. He would even bark. They are a treat to watch and they can be quite destructive too.
Good narration.

I did and it brought back many parrot memories, I owned three in the past. The African grey and a couple of Lorikeets, vicious little guys.

Thank you for sharing. I, too, have seen this in the past, and when it does happen it's as priceless as seeing an infant pretend to be an adult. I like how you chose this instance to write about. The moments of laughter is a subtle gift.

this piece is just fine. i think it could use a bit more flare and charisma but for the fifty word limit, i think it gets the job done. picturing a parrot barking, though, does have me laughing.

A very funny story in a very compact format. I have tried the fifty word story format before and know it is very difficult to do. They say some animals aren't intelligent, I disagree.

Some animals do bond with those of different species and take on the behaviour of their friends. I guess the parrot sees himself as a dog. It would be really funny to watch them. Good luck in the competition.
