With great and illuminated light comes great and wonderful hope.
Grieve not tis all black now quote..
The Raven nevermore!
Which is of course a Poeish style.
Anywho I immediately was attracted to this peace that you created at work well with me quite powerful.
With that thought in mind at 11:55 p.m. and here in New Jersey it is almost the witching hour.
And good luck with this and have a blessed new day.

Thanx, Doc -- those stars are great for a smile and some extra light this morning! ;) ;) So glad you enjoyed my zejel experiment -- ran across the form when I was doing a little reading and thought I'd give it a try! :) Take care up there in Jersey! ;) ;) Yvette

What an interesting rhyme pattern for a poem. And it flowed so well. That though is undoubtedly due to the quality of the poet. I must confess I was intrigued by your biography. Working at NASA must have been a breathtaking experience. Also terrifying at times no doubt.

Wow -- thank you so very much for the awesome compliment, sir -- you made my morning! ;) ;) And, yes, both my NASA work (tethered satellite systems) and the military (missile systems with 'kill vehicles') were very, VERY cool....not so much terrifying, but I'm pretty sure not many folks have any idea of the things that go on!! ;) :) LOL! :) So glad you enjoyed my zejel experiment, Bob -- ran across the form when I was doing a little reading and thought I'd give it a try! :) Thanx for your encouraging comments -- have a great week! ;) ;) Yvette :)

"Surrender Not The Light", is an exceptionally well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. To me, this is a definite six! I look forward to seeing your next post.

Thanx, Duchess -- those stars have the sun shining bright over here this morning! ;) ;) So glad you enjoyed my zejel experiment -- ran across the form when I was doing a little reading and thought I'd give it a try! :) The great thing was that even though there's a syllable-requirement there's not the "ta-tum, ta-tum" thing that I can never, EVER seem to get right!! :) ;) LOL! Just line up the rhymes and count and there it is!! ;) Take care over there and I'd love to see your hand at it! ;) ;) Yvette

Yvette, you're more than welcome. The sun might be shining there, but it's bloody freezing here.......... :))) LOL I'll take care and you do the same.
You certainly got it right this time.
    Take care and God bless,
    the Duchess !(-_-)!

This is the first time I have come across the zejel form : ) It looks tailor made for die hard rhymers and I can see one having a lot of fun with it.
Your opening line is a peach of a line, now that is how to start a poem : ))
The visuals are stunning, the battle between night and day plays out beautifully and set the stage for Luna to ride in on her blinding white charger. Loved it!

Thanx, Hitch -- those stars have put a big smile on the blonde's face this morning! ;) ;) And, yes! It was fun and the great thing was that even though there's a syllable-requirement there's not the "ta-tum, ta-tum" thing that I can never, EVER seem to get right!! :) ;) Just line up the rhymes and count and there it is!! ;) So glad you enjoyed the 'battle scene' of offense and retreat... that's the kindof stuff I like to concentrate on and not the 'ta-tum, ta-tum' craziness - LOL! :) ;) Take care over there and give it a try! ;) ;) Yvette

Very nice. The words have a somewhat lyrical quality. Well crafted. I thought the picture choice was excellent as well. Thank you for sharing this. I sure your readers will appreciate the beauty of the imagery here.

An ominous beginning, henchmen, dusk's dark magic, daylight's fate
where weak and strong are being very careful. Then the light and clearing word 'breeze' begins the change toward one light changing the situation and setting it on its ear.
Enjoyable. Thank you.

P.S. Have to tell you that I love your name... I named my youngest that because of its meaning: 'Wild' Man in Celtic! ;) ;)

Yes, when I tell people about wild man or savage - they look at me out of the corner of their eye because of my delight in it.

This lovely, skillfully-written poem makes excellent use of specifics to describe the power of the night, moving smoothly from dark to bright
starlit sky. Great use of metaphor and personification
