I consider this to be a gem... not a rough diamond - it's an absolute stunner of sparkling simplicity, covering in very few lines all the emotion that is unleashed at the end of a controlling relationshit (and that is not a typo!) This girl can now get some backbone, not even concern herself with whether he is grieving or not, and CELEBRATE. Pop the cork... I'm coming over to give you a hug.

This meets the contest requirements beautifully with perfect iambic pentameter throughout, correct stanza line and syllable count. The content is inspiring and leaves the reader thinking as the closing poses a question that everyone must answer at some point in their life.
