Isn't it funny the little things we remember like your Dad's apple, entertaining his little girl of the slippery dip. Lovely Sevenelle Yvonne, this one made me smile thinking of dads and their little girls.
cheers,
valda

Thank you. I think of this every time I pass that place. Funny how the slide isn't as tall as I remember. hahaha

Oh, this is just a fun and memorable sevenelle offering, Yvonne -- I can just see a grown man with his daughter trying to have fun and create some memories they would always share!! ;) ;) Thanx for sharing that smile today! ;) Yvette ;)

A very entertaining poem. You wove a true story into an artful poem that is a pleasure to read. As well, the picture compliments the story and I smile as I see your dad go north and the apple go south.

Love it my friend. A timely reminder to never trust a child who says it will be fun.
Lovely memory to have of your dad though. Nice bright rhyme throughout
hugs

Awww, he knew what to expect. He just put on a show for me. Thanks for reviewing. Say hi to the boys for me.

Awe, Yvonne, so in the end you both had fun, but at the time you had the most. That's what parents do, play with their kids and make them laugh. I loved your lovely poem. All the best. Ulla:)))

We went out to the park today,
'cause it's my favorite place to play.
I said, "Oh, Daddy, ride the slide.
You'll have such fun when down you glide"
As he went up, I stood aside.
He had an apple in his mouth,
when he flew north, the fruit flew south.
NO NOTES
The sliding board with its big hump,
right in the middle, made a bump.
He didn't know, I hadn't told,
but bless his heart, he didn't scold.
It was so funny to behold
he had an apple in his mouth,
when he flew north, the fruit flew south.

Hi Yvonne.... this is an outstanding delivery of this form. Jim was telling us about this and that we will advance to it in this European forms class we are in. I miss your interaction and knowledgeable perspective. Great job on this!!

What a nice thing to say. Thank you for that. I look forward to seeing your sevenelle soon.

Oh, how words paint a picture.
This one would have given the reader a clear picture of the "caper" even without the slide to illustrate.
So awesome.

Thank you so much for this marvelous review. Hope you had a nice holiday. Keep in touch.

You have used the form here really well, the tercet seems to mirroe the acceleration as Daddy goes down the slide. The repeated couplet is a lovely example of understated humour.

Thank you, Jim. That's good to hear.

I am like an expectant Dad here by the way. Penny is due to pup any day now -- an accident, courtesy of one of the farm's Welsh Shepherds a couple of months ago!
-
How exciting. What will you do with the puppies? Keep them? I thought Penny was spayed. Keep me posted on the new arrivals. Paddy will be overwhelmed for a while when they arrive. lol
-
Clearly she was not spayed. I had her scanned a fortnight ago and they couldn't tell how many there were because they were all on top of each other, but the vet sai she thought there were lots! I can't keep them all, well maybe one. I hope to sell them to fund a trip tip to the USA. Lol.
-
Coming over here? Great! Let me know when and where you'll be. There probably are lots of babies. My shepherd mix once had 10!
-
I have to make the money first, but she is heavy poor dear and spends most of her days asleep.
-
Bless her little heart. I know she's in good hands. Give her a hug for me. And Paddy, too.
-
I will. Paddy is quite a friend to her now, and just lately, protective of her too. Her black knight in shining armour.
