This meets the contest requirements beautifully as you deliver a well penned piece exuding the essence of love from end to end. The use of couplets enhanced the overall impact of each stanza. When I see an old weathered couple walking hand in hand I feel a tug at my heart...I imagine how strong their love must have been to get over the trials of life together ..now as they grow weaker each finds strength in the other.
It's very sad when one dies and his or her partner is left behind.
Your pic is very sweet and I like your subtitle too.

It's very sad when one dies and his or her partner is left behind.

I guess, mystery writer, that your evocative verses really spoke to me as we're been married 47 years and I can so relate to your words. We look out for each other - continually. It almost takes two of us to function fully nowadays but together we manage. Good luck in the contest.

So much said in few words. Only a history among two over time expresses how love is shown. Love isn't just a sex act but so much more. It's little acts of service and moments of comfort.
