This is awesome and I see you are in the sweet remembrances of motherhood this month. I want to know, how did a picture of my pregnant belly wind up on the Internet? Actually, I was this big at six months. At nine months, I was a show stopper. Ahem....
This is sugar sweet and perfectly wonderful. My best and in in the upcoming contest.

Yeah, having mom in visiting this week has brought all of those 'crazy female feelings' all rushing to the surface again! ;) ;) And, hey, I might have you beat: I gained (and I'm NOT joking) a minimum of FIFTY pounds with each one of the boys...my last one was 58 [he weighed 9.5 lbs, 21 inches long]..... so I get the show stopper!! Honey, even my loving husbin said I looked like the front end of a nuclear submarine!! ;) :) No worries, though, I'm in a size 6...have been for a while....I'm far to active and crazy to carry around 'stuff' I don't need - LOL! ;) You take care, ma'am, and thanx for sharing! ;) ;) Yvette

This is an excellent etheree, Yvette. Most importantly because it is poetic and I know that sounds odd, but hey that old triangle always has to be there too, right.

Excellent post and many thanks for sharing.

A beautiful poem! The miracle of birth is so amazing and in your poem you captured a part of it, That first flutter that you feel and the every movement your baby makes, you treasure those times. Anyway good job!

Very beautiful and meaningful. My daughter just had her first baby and this resonates with us both. There is so much beauty in a baby when it is brought into this world.

A beautiful overall presentation.
I really like your title; it drew me in immediately, as did your description line giving hints as to what was to come.
Exquisite words ... I could hear both the whispers and the silence as the reality of new life was felt by fingertips and hands.
An excellent contest entry!!

Okay, I understand the warm, fuzzy feeling you were trying to convey. Sure, new baby about to be born. But I came across several trite phrases, such as, "stand with me," "walls of silence," "enfold this special moment," "new life's presence," "It's wonders made manifest." All way overused ideas and syntax.

And regarding the poem as a whole, it didn't strike me as anything original. I've seen far too many enraptured by a woman's bulging, pregnant stomach. Being excited about a woman about to give birth is nothing new under the sun; women have been having babies for millennia.

But don't fret, as it's tough coming up with original thoughts amd phrases. No one on this site has more original poetry and prose as I do, and I still painstakingly rack my brain to write something completely original. Very few writers have this skill--maybe 1 out of every 100 of them.

Yeah, I know a lot of people here would disagree with me, and they'd be quick to point out how many pretty ribbons and stars they've received, but I don't see this as evidence of being someone who has a unique voice and who continually comes up with original works. In most cases, it simply means people here have lots of likeminded friends who either pat each other's backs (the old "you scratch my back, and I'll scratch your back" thing), or they flat out can't recognize good, and "original" writing when they see it.

And I laugh at the people here who falsely believe they are capable of teaching people about the craft of writing. Most of these folks are truly deluded.

But I digress. Thanks for sharing your poetry. A fellow writer.

Good luck with your writing prompt entry. Photo really compliments you Etheree poem. I've not heard of this type of poem (learn something every day.) To feel an unborn kick or move must be such a special time for the soon to be mother. Just like a Christmas present, one looks forward to the birth of new life. One cannot shake a baby, just the Christmas present box. How exciting! Excellent writing. ****** six virtual stars!

A very well-written Etheree about the unborn life inside us when there is that first time movement that ensure us of the new life we created it is the most exciting feeling any mother can have.
