A very well-written dribble flash fiction about Billy the Kid. There are always more than one side to any story, and we can change it as we like to give everyone another perspective.

Thank you!

I certainly can believe this one. This is wonderfully descriptive, as no word was wasted in this dribble flash fiction entry. That is really the key to these short pieces.
All my best to you and in the upcoming contest,
Sally :+)

The story is a good start but I am not sure it's a story. These short stories are really hard, hence the five. To me, a story has a beginning, middle and end. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

It's the story of how a well known historical figure got his start. What do you want for fifty words? :)

I don't know much about the historical background concerning Billy the Kid, but this certainly has all the appearance of being plausible. We all like a rogue with a redeeming feature or two.

I was never much of a fan of Billy the Kid, but I definitely had not heard this story before. You also came up with a really cool picture that adds to the story. The one thing that did catch my eye was your flexing of the language when you neatly changed "history" into "his story." That was a good one. Good luck in the contest. -Robert-

OOPS! I'm so tempted to take credit for the "his story" thing..but I can't. I never thought of it until you mentioned it. Hey, maybe I'm a genius and don't know it? LOL Thanks for reviewing, eagle eye! :)

I only noticed it because I have taught Sunday School classes for over 40 years and I've used that phrase hundreds upon hundreds of times.
