I remember Clint Eastwood as "Rowdy Yates". My family watched RAWHIDE quite religiously. Strangely enough, the first time Clint Eastwood made his appearance on the big screen was in "Revenge of the Creature" From the Black Lagoon. It was a walk on part but it was Clint. I wonder if any those people from 1955 are still alive and now realize what a Mega-Star Mr. Eastwood has become? Good luck, I'm rooting for you.

You bet! I never miss an opportunity to discuss Clint Easterwood. It was my pleasure. Good luck again in the contest.

Hello mystery writer: You did a very clever job of incorporating Clint Eastwood and his many movies into a single poem. The first seven stanzas acted as an anthology including his previous hits but my favorite part came in the last stanza when Clint and Duke rode off into the sunset. Nice job. -Robert-

You made my day, bringing up tons of wonderful memories. I found myself trying to place all of those roles. I'm afraid that I missed several Clint Eastwood performances. I will correct that because I'm a fan for sure. This is cleverly written. You may ride off into the sunset with the prize. I enjoyed it.

You've written an excellent Western poem for the contest
with very good rhymes bringing some of Clint's best
into a wonderful tribute. Even the Duke is smiling.
This may make your day in the voting booth.
Good luck
Robert

I loved that man when I was a teenager and he still looking good at his age
You captured my attention from the first line to he last
Just looking at the list of movies he play in is unreal
I' sure I saw them all because my mother had a job at the movie theater selling the tickets and we got in free
Thank you for sharing

I was tempted to give this six stars simply because I'm such a huge fan of Clint Eastwood. But... well, I sometimes have to tamp down my enthusiasm and try to be realistic. While your rhymes are creative and quite satisfying, the meter is so raggedy, I was wanting to "fix it" every few lines. But, Clint seems like a kind of raggedy guy, so it may be perfectly appropriate for him. A fun poem for me, since I feel like you've written it for my friend. I hope it will do well in the contest. ~MM (BTW, who is the best? John Wayne?)

Of course the best cowboy actor is John Wayne. Sorry about the meter, but i'm not really a poet. I appreciate the five stars and you taking the time to read and review my work.

I enjoyed your contest entry, Mystery Author. Good job with the many references to Eastwood's western films. Many of them are rerunning on Grit TV and ISPN. All those you mentioned were great--the ones I know that is. I'm sure the others are, too. I really like the added bonus of rhyme. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Jan

I guess we know who you think the number one guy is! I love the walk down memory lane but you've left out my favorite of his Westerns, "Play Misty for me." (Hey, it was set in California!) Thank you for the poem.

I'm sorry I didn't use Misty, but it was a cowboy poem, I couldnt use my favorite, Heartbreak Ridge. I appreciate you taking the time to read and review my work.

You're welcome! Your poem caused me to go to wiki read about Clint's early career. Very interesting read!

WOW! This certainly meets the contest criteria with gusto. The meter and rhyme are solid throughout. I think you included almost all of the most famous films and executed it beautifully. Best of luck in the judging and thank you for sharing it.

This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.
