Hello Author, A very cool Clint Eastwood Poem. I didn't see a lot of the things you put up there, just some of the later stuff. Of course, he was really versatile, especially in his later years... (I say that like it means something... his career has lasted 60 years!) I should say that I'm partial to things that came out after he was done with all the westerns. :)

Back in the seventies, my students were going up and down the hall between classes saying, in this weird voice, "WHO ARE YOU?!" High Plains Drifter--Right? Your poem skillfully-written and cleverly conceived. You've made great use of specific details.

Ha! Now THIS is entertainment, and should do well in the booth -- best of luck. Clint Eastwood starred in many other movies too, but I understand the contest is calling for Western poetry. Well done.

Good job with this poem. My favorites are the Dirty Harry movies, Play Misty For Me, and Paint Your Wagon. Best of luck in the contest with this good entry. Marilyn

So what's wrong with cheesy spaghetti westerns? I'm not a great fan of Chuck, but Clint I remember from his Rawhide days. Can't get any better than that. My Dad liked John Wayne. But Dirty Harry is my pick Hope you win in the contest! I enjoyed this piece.

I like this. You did well making it all fit together. Yea the Duke was something else and so was Clint. They were both good entertainers . I hope you win

Hi, author. Clint is my favorite always has been. John Wayne is right up there too though. Am I understanding you are crediting him with singing in "Paint Your wagon?" Are you referring to the song "Under a Wandering Star?" If so, I must correct you...that was Lee Marvin.

Good job, Bob

Actually he sang I Still see Elisa, I Talk to the Trees, Best Things, and Gold Fever in Paint Your Wagon. Thank you Bob for reviewing this poem.

You touched on all those tough western movies Clint acted in. I liked how you wove them all into a coherent verse. Wayne and Eastwood would surely ride together into the distant sunset.

Minor nitpick: Fistfull (sic) of Dollars is misspelled in your post. Consider adding a comma between 'Preacher' and 'the Pale Rider.'

Good luck in this entry. IMHO those of a certain generation will surely vote for your post.

Dear Poet,

The tough guy but with a touch of class. Always ready to make the bad hombres pay. A lot of movies included in your poem some of the best that Clint ever did.

Good luck in the contest.

Cheers,

Winslow

A nice tribute to Clint Eastwood. I love his movies both western and others. Good luck in the Western poetry contest. No edits or adjustments necessary.
