This poem of tercets contains a strong metaphors for love. It can be a cloak to keep you warm and a lullaby to calm you in hard times. Finding the perfect one to share your heart is hard. But, when you do,it is wonderful.
Congrats on tying for second place in the contest.

Congratulations on having your Free Verse well received in the recent contest. I admired the image of the "singing cloak" and your tercets. Thank you for adding the contemplative, parallel artwork as well. Cheers- Joan

Thank you soooo much! I love this poem. Something I wrote years ago and happen to find it again going through some old stuff. Revamped just a bit, and really turned out better than I expected. So happy it impressed the committee. Thank you always for your sincere support. It means so much to me! xoxo

I'm pleased you rediscovered your poem. Your revamp touches worked a treat with the contest judges!

I could not figure out how I missed this, and then I saw the date on it. This was the week before I fanned you. Whew. I thought I was losing it.
Congratulations on this outstanding poem and second place win!

WOW! I was just reviewing some of the Club Members entries! (like I have time, right?) For an open 10 minute write, you nailed it on this! I have been used to reading your short pieces and then, THIS? It blew me away.
Soft, gentle, intense emotion. Flowing, lovely in every aspect with a wonderful visual chosen. Great job!

How lovely, I love the way you have created each stanza especially the strength of the fabric in other words the strength of their love. Precious lullaby so soft one can almost imagine the love breathing from the heart.

I love this 'cloak' theme and revelry as a keepsake kind of promise
and protection while 'preparing heart for true love'! It wafts through
the senses so evocatively and enticingly from line to line; a true
joy and inspiration to read and reflect more deeply within.
Great contest entry, best of luck!
Best wishes always, Ronni

Wow, Diana. This is so beautiful. Your words are so compelling. You bring both romance and mystery into this poem. You've done a great job of activating your thoughts and questions while also asking others to consider theirs. Wonderful.

This is beautiful with all the metaphors, consonance, and assonance. She's waiting for just the right one who will appreciate all she have to give. Well done, and good luck in the contest.

This is a lovely entry for the Free Verse Contest. The presentation is stunning as you created impact while maintaining a high taste level. I thought the theme very clever as you use the concept of a cloak to create an image of what genuine love is like - all encompassing, protective, and warming. Good luck in the judging and thank you very much for sharing it.
