The Gift To Write Is a very insightful poem that invites us to step away from the mundane typical view of the art of writing, and walk into a place of exquisite beauty, created by God our Creator. In this place of beauty, if we open our mind, we will see more than just what the natural eye can see. The mind of the writer is compelled by Joy to drop the veil of secrecy that seems to shroud the inner workings of the creative mind. The writer invites his reader into a place of intrigue and suspense and then discloses the delights of the this blessed calling.

This contest winning poem deserved a little green plus at the end of its five beautiful stars! LOL

This monorhyme, The Gift to Write, presented in four iambic tetrameter quatrains with a cascading line, glorifies the need and ability to pen the words which delight oneself and others. How precious is that gift to write. Nice.

Very fine effort at rhyming and a great message. The pace is good and the flow keeps one reading. I like the repeated lines. Love the picture that accompanies the poem.

What a lovely poem - and you managed to rhyme the end words well. It is a gift to be able to write - to express ourselves in this manner - some have no inclination to express themselves.
good job.

An accomplished poem demonstrating that you have polished the precious gift of writing. You've chosen a rhyme that has plenty of alternatives, giving you the scope to write a poem that flows naturally. Added to that, your judicious use of run-on lines adds variety to leaven the monotony of the end rhyming. Finally, it was a wise choice to use this cascading format, allowing you the latitude of a repeating line. This, too, slips down through the verses naturally. I imagine this should do well in the contest. It certainly deserves to.
