JJ,
Where you been, girl? Good to see you! My husband is in the construction business, as well, and I am always amazed at these fellows who work in the hot sun allllllll day! Kudos to them!

Hey yourself, :O) Been busy getting my novel published. "The Curse of 'Gator Bayou." Amazon published it. It only took me six years LOL to get brave enough to put it out there. Thanks for reviewing my poem. My guys have a special place in my heart.

That's my Jim 'to a T' as well. He never even took vacations. He worked as a carpenter. Long Hours. This is a great poem about the men who make America strong. I can't tell you how many times I saw him in such a pose as that. Well done my friend. Nancy:)

Thanks again, Nancy, for the six stars and the great review. Yes, I have a special tenderness in my heart for working men especially carpenters like my boys and yours. :o)

Yep, this has been the subject of many country songs over the years. And speaking as a "hard-working" man I can attest to how much being one sucks. That's why I always keep a lottery ticket in my wallet. It's the ONLY thing that gives me hope of a way out.

I like the working man. He is the backbone behind the world. This is a good message behind a very well written poem. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

I liked the sentiments here as men grow up to do a hard days graft and enjoy the challenge of work as they improve their skills, my Dad always said that hard work never hurt anyone! He he he, your words here are much enjoyed, love Dolly x

I love "God bless the working man." It is a hard life, but hard work is good for the soul. I bet your husband and sons are good people. At least they are not afraid of hard work, and that says so much for mankind this day and age. I like how you say that he keeps his nose to the grind during the week, but gets a little loose on the weekend. What a fun way to describe the working man's life. He has much to be proud of, and so do you for your efforts with this poem.
Nice job.

He is a working man, he works very hard for his family, and gets a very little wage, it is hard life but it is his; may God bless him; well said, well done. Write-Inspire-Change --DR ALCREATOR

Yes, it's hard work. But not everyone is meant to work in an office, and I hear the pay is pretty good. I think you're a lucky lady. Good luck in the contest.

No one is more to be admired than a hard worker making an honest living. It sounds like your grandson is learning from the best! My only suggestion is to change "end" to "in". I believe the expression is "day in and day out." Your poem is well done!
