Wow! This is beautiful. I love the way you enumerated all the ways time touches a life. But you did it with a dreamy, captivating tone that was quite mesmerizing -not preachy at all, even though you reminded me of many instances. The last stanza is especially meaningful and memorable. This is a fantastic entry in this contest, and I bet it will do VERY well for you. Finally! a poem I love! I tend to enjoy poetry but have reviewed many today without loving any of them until now. I love the message. I love the flow. I love the ombre font colors. If you would have reversed the ombre it would have looked like the words were fading like time. The way you did it made it seem like your wisdom brightened as time passed on. GREAT JOB!

Wow, Lady F! :) DO NOT apologize for focusing on getting you well -- this should be low on your priority list -- just get you back to you!! :) ;) This weekend saw my last 'hurdle' cleared: I got my husband and middle son on a plane to Japan.... David will be back in just over a week while the son's spending the summer there taking a few courses.... he put off his graduation until August just so he can have this experience (doesn't need the classes, but wanted to do it) -- really cool opportunity! ;) ;) But, this week, I'm doing nothing but getting caught up on my stuff and putting some real focus into writing... hooray! :) :) My poems are enjoyable and a great way to let the brain wander/wonder while I'm on the front porch in the evenings, but real writing (stories and such) take 'time uninterruptus' and now I got some!! ;);) LOL! :)
You keep taking good care of you and I'll be sure to check on ya later this week... since I have a life again (or, should I say, a life that has room to breathe in it!). :) ;) Yvette
