Now THAT is a scary thought, John! You ought to at least have to press it every 4 hours just so you know you aren't burning up in the middle of the night! LOL This one was lots of fun! :)

Wow -- now there's a very sad state of affairs.... that a fire alarms is by-passed with a 'fire-killer' ... and it'll just start up again! Great message to folks that just 'take a pill' to get through 8 more hours rather than getting to the 'bottom of' or 'reason for' the pain! ;) ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck in the contest! ;) :) Yvette

Just one small point, an em dash is the correct punctuation for an interruption (reference 6.87, The Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition). So I think it should be: "Hello. This is Peter--" (note, no period is required).

You think the problem.is solved for good until the final moments when you get hit with a bombshell that the problem.isnt quite solved after all . Very good ending where you can almost predict Peters satisfaction becoming one of frustration soon after
