Dear Ricky, I didn't know you were going through an operation that might be life-threatening. You're talking about yourself as though you were already dead (Alas poor Ricky...We knew him well?) jgrace's artwork fits beautifully with this poem. Dove

Well, that was a powerful reflection of what I assume was heart surgery. I had a triple bypass last year and it was truly horrible. It took a lot to recover, so I really identified with your chapter. Well done!!

I hope everything goes well with your surgery and it doesn't knock you out of action for too long. I hope you don't lose your colon. Good luck my friend and keep us posted.

An interesting and involved piece. In so few words you've conveyed so much.
Here are a couple of points that particularly caught my interest:
Time is but a distant thought... -- This is a profound statement with which to start this introspection. It is likely to intrigue the reader, prompted them to continue :)
A Wisp in the Wind?
But a Long Lost Song... / Awaiting to Mend? / A Tree whom long shed.... / His many Leaves... -- Using the imagery of the natural world as a reflection of personal thoughts is an often used trope. It works well here :)

Well, I hope everything goes well if you must really have all that work done. Not good to have a bowel blockage backing up bile. Watch out for that mesh that they've been having trouble with

Great poem! I've never been a big poem reader but it kept my attention! Everything that comes will also go. You did a good job displaying that! And good luck on the surgery!
