I appreciated your honesty here as you did not go for obvious sentimentality and warmth. Many can identify with your feelings, and the ending is one of vulnernability and hope.

This is a great entry in the family poem contest.
No two people are the same and when it's in the case of sisters that could be hard to deal with, as evidenced by your poem.
Your rhymes are great and the meter is strong and your descriptive
images are entertaining.

So very sweet. . .but I do understand, from a mother's point of view. My two youngest daughters, even at the age of 49 still has feelings of anger for her older sister. Yes, they are different in almost every way I can imagine but I do long for the day when the baby of the family knows how much she is loved by her older sister.

clap, clap, clap etc., etc.{applause} Great poem! From the story to the flow mixed with the rhyme. You nailed it and stuck the landing. Excellent motivator for discussion,. Which I'm having with the other side of my brain while noticing the on point similarities with me and my brother. I kind of disagree though with the title. I think your relationship is ultimate science. The metal to the magnet. Her spacey ways awoke your differences forming a motivating tool to strive and achieve. As you for her. The ultimate family love, deep and sometimes annoyingly to hard to handle{and definitely to hard to figure out} so we ride the waves into some sea of maturity in this world that is in denial. I think she brought out the depths in you. Both love and hate just by being herself and is party, probably more then that, responsible for you writing powerful poetry. Sorry for going on and on. A testament to a great read. Keep at it.

This poem is beautiful, but also bittersweet for me. My kid sister and I had a very similar relationship... unfortunately she passed away last summer at the age of 48.
