In my opinion, a fun write in its limerick form that fulfills the prompt requirement easily - exactly how a card game should be played by a couple, in order to be lucky at cards, and on that note, best of luck in the contest...

A very well-written limerick about a card game that involves some undressing and then the loser can also become a winner to claim the prize with the winner.

Thanks for the fun and validating review!

So, you are a card sharp too! Another undercover skill. And you get your gear off at the drop of a card it would appear. What physical flaws does your Bobby have to accept in you, pray tell??
A good limerick, fun and risque to entertain.

My flaws are all on the inside, LisaMay; that's how I was able to ensnare poor Knobby Bobby originally. The old Bait and Switch! Thanks for another always-clever review.
-
Hey there... I learned something new from you. I had not heard the phrase Bait and Switch so I googled it. It explained, but also had some cartoons to illustrate the meaning. One showed a crowd and Moses, with someone in the crowd muttering to another: "Typical bait-and-switch! He promised us manna but gave us commandments."
-
HAHAHAHAHAH!!! You have brought such joy to my life since Day One, LisaMay.
-
You me too sweetie. xxxxxx+

Oh wow!!! All those x'es. I KNOW I rate now!!! xo

This is very cute and I think fits the criteria for the contest perfectly. When you love someone, knobby knees don't matter. =} I hope you do well in the contest. Rox

You've written such a clever little piece! I can see you must be a great writer of limericks. Nothing to adjust (possibly use an em dash instead of a dash, but still makes the grade)!

Help! I don't know what an em dash is!
Thanks for your very nice review here, Beri Bee.
-
It's the long dash ? ! You can make one by holding down the option and shift buttons at the same time as the dask key! ? ? ? ? ? They're fun!
-
Oh no! FanStory turned my em dashes into question marks! Well, I 've seen other use them, so I know there's a way! If I figure it out, I'll let you know!
-
Hahah. Alright! I'll be standing by. Thank you.

This was cute. Thanks for sharing. This reminded me of when my hubby and I were engaged. We would plan Gin Rummy all the time. He taught me how to play. Course what was funny was at the time, I kept beating him. He hated to NOT win. So we would keep going until he finally won. There were times that we would play till 2 am. lol That was many years ago. We have been married for 29 years now. :) Happy writing, katy

Oh my goodness!! I LOVE this vignette and am so glad you shared it, Katy. (Do you still play Gin Rummy? And, more important, does he still have to win before you call it a night?!)
Thanks for the adorable review.
-
No, we don't play cards anymore. We also don't play backgammon because we couldn't agree on the rules of that game. lol He has gotten better when it comes to his competitive side.
-
Hahaha. That's funny.
Are you competitive, too? (I'm thinking 'yes' because otherwise, you'd have let him win just to get it over with and to bed at a reasonable hour!) [If it's any consolation, I'm competitive, too, and one time cheated at Scrabble when I had just one L tile left. I put it next to an I and told Bobby it was a rare African snake...and he didn't challenge me because he still had several tiles left and didn't want to have to forfeit his final turn. But it's come back to haunt me, Katy, because soooo many times I've heard since then, "Oh, you're acting like an IL right now!" Hahahahaha.

That's funny. One of our favorite words that we made up once when we were playing scrabble with a couple is:Ape Snot. lol That was at least 20 or more years ago when we made up the word. I think James made the word up but it has stuck. lol We don't play scrabble anymore either. lol No, I am not really competitive. I am very laid back compared to him. Have a good day. katy
-
It will feel very validating to tell my husband this. (And it's a fun word to say, too, isn't it?! Ape Snot! hahaha.)
-
Yes it is! Lol We use it to mean... not really. Lol
-
Omg!! I absolutely love this!!! This would make for the cutest story, you know! Everyone would love it.
-
I am sure we have plenty of them after 29 years of togetherness! lol
-
Go for it!!! You'd definitely have a captive audience on this site!

A fun Limerick and I have a small suggestion for the fourth line 'and both of us win' would keep the syllable count and meter, good luck with the contest, love Dolly x

This is correct according to the rules, but also so funny. The title, picture and content combine for a very entertaining entry.
I wish you luck!

Your limerick is skillfully-written and amusing--appealing without being vulgar. The speaker has found an ingenious way to make a card game more fun and exciting.
