Only saw this after the voting had concluded. I like 5-7-5 verses so I took a peek at the entries.

I thought yours was terrific. Possibly, there is a martial arts studio somewhere out there in the forest that your birdie trained at. LOL

This is the funniest 5-7-5 syllable poem I have ever read. The photograph hysterical! Absolutely loved it! Wish I had a dozen copies to post around the house for laughs! Great job!! Most definitely a winner! (Out of sixes or your poem would have one!)

I guess if he was indoors that feisty bird would be a 'cage fighter' - Mixed Martial Arts. I love your poem... we seem to expect birds to be sweet-natured fluffy songsters but they can be greedy selfish bastards like us!!

Birdies can be vicious. I see them fight all the time. Leaving work I saw a tiny bird going after a much bigger one, I don't if he took the other food or what. There are birds all over here in FL so many kinds. Hope you do well in the contest.

Okay, that's hilarious!! :) And you even threw in some alliteration there on the last line -- great job! ;) The most aggressive ones at our feeders are the hummers followed closely by the goldfinches... although the woodpeckers are extremely possessive of the suet!! ;) :) Good luck in the contest! :)
