This is a delightful entry for this contest. I can just envision this white-haired lady grabbing a cab from the old folks home to the marina and embarking on a world cruise. I'd join her if I had her loot.
Good choice of rhymes and rhyme scheme. Rod

Me too. Actually those cruises can be cheap if you sign up for a year cruise. Those retirement homes, all told, are probably more expensive and the cruise ship would be more fun, guaranteed. Great food (24 hours) and music, hair salon, theatre, awesome view, interesting people and crew, exotic day trips, and if you die, burial at sea. What could be a more fantastic end? Thanks for the wistful review, cheers.

Hello :)
What a wonderful way to spend those later years - sipping tea on sundecks with company and views to die for. Sign me up for that, please!
I enjoyed your rhymed poem - nice meter and a warm and upbeat theme.
Good luck in the voting booth. Best wishes, Debra :)

Haha what would you rather do? Spend your days playing canasta with disillusioned, lonely elders or pass your days on a lively cruise ship with fantastic sights, new people constantly coming into your life and delicious food and music every night. I believe a year on a cruise ship and a year in old folks home, comes to about the same cost. That's where you will find me! Thanks for the review, cheers.
