Peterperson, I guess, would have been a better alternative. But this is definitely a term I have never heard. But thanks to you -and this perfect picture you discovered for it!- it will be ensconced in my brain forever. Good luck to you in this contest! xo

Thanx for your review, Rachelle. ;)
Comment from Henry King
This is an excellent entry to the obscure word 7-9-7 poetic contest. Your internal rhyme, sibilance and consonance, is excellent. Peterman, from several viewpoints, is a sexist word. But, it may come the Latin salpetra or British saltpetre which was used as an explosive. There is no need to go into other recorded uses. The curious may look in Naval histories of voyages of a year or more. Well done.

This is a fun poem. In just three short lines you have created an engaging character with a dash of bravado. The ending makes the reader smile and root for the thief.

:))) Oh, how clever! I loved this little gem. I hope it does well in the booth -- I think it will be VERY hard to beat, perhaps impossible, not unlike the safe-cracking "Lady Lock" - hahahaha!

LOL! :) Thanx for the compliments, Dawn, but I pretty much know when you don't do something 'flowery' or 'hearwarming', it will most likely not place high, but, hey! a girl's gotta have some fun, yeah?! ;) ;) And when I ran across this one, I just couldn't pass it up! ;) ;) Thanx again, Beautiful Lady, and take care of you and Prissy! ;) ;) Yvette
I promise to try to start catching up on reviews.... soon?....maybe? :) ;) :)

A very well-written 7-9-7 obscure word poem. To pick safe locks are a very delicate professional job, the ones who can do it will often do it for their own pocket to empty the safe with anything in it.

Thank you for your review on this one, Sandra -- I so very much appreciate your support of my work, ma'am!! ;) :) Take care over there!
**My apologies for being so tardy in my reply! I actually managed to post but not much of anything else this week! :( Final exams dominated life (taking some time with tea this morning before life takes over again) and the weekend of moving sons is not finished -- all my grades are in, though - hooray!! :) :) LOL! Take good care and have a great Sunday! ;) Yvette

Learned a new word, Peterman, wonder how that came to be? Checked to see the poem met the
7-9-7 syllables
Structured requirement
And read a fun finger in your eye ode to male and female safe crackers. May lady lock keep smiling on all of you.
I would say you squared all the corners with this one.
Well done
