I doubt I have the expertise to try something as complicated as a Tribus Octo, but I thoroughly enjoyed your whimsical write. Garden fairies are an integral part of childhood and I love reliving that experience with my grandchildren.
Kudos on your win.
I don't know if you crossed paths with the late Brooke Baldwin (adewpearl) who was a premier poet on this site. But your poem reminded me of her whimsical streak. And brought a smile!

Hello Julia! Thank you for reading and for the wonderful review. No, I did not know her...but have friends here that did. :-) I started writing about 3 years ago when I joined FS. She was well loved here...wish I had known her.

It was my pleasure to review. Enjoy the weekend!

Magnificent poem SusanJohn,
It is a stunning choice and I can see why it won! What a rhyme scheme another one I need to add to the list to learn! Tribus Octo (Three on Eight) what a wonderful theme also that you threaded about the fairies! Just a beautiful and whimsical offering that I adored! As much as I would like to have given a 6 I ran out around 1 pm today. So it has to be my Virtual Six but it deserves a freaking 10! Cheers, Fonda

I don't believe I have ever had the pleasure of reading a poem written in the Tribus Octo form before now, Susan.
This entry featured a very unique rhyme scheme, wonderfully well written imagery and an interesting story about faeries and sprites as well.
It's quite easy to see why this won the contest.
Congratulations, nice work!

This Tribus Octo, Faerie Dust, has the proper formatting and finds a moment of sprite delight as one open soul witnesses the fun had by little fairies in the midst of nature. Fun little story.

Well, goodness, Susan!
What a gorgeous rendition of the Tribus Octo you've created, and what an amazing imagination one sees dancing vibrantly upon the page into our own fantasies ... you've sprinkled fairy dust and created your own little miniature world of poetic wonder.
The form is spot-on, the imagery vivid and clear, and your lines have a jaunty, happy-go-lucky feel that lifts the spirits and inspired an appreciative smile ... presentation and picture seem virtually perfect to me, as-well.
It seems you've met the contest's requirements in verse, rhyme, and story, that should either win or place nicely for you!
Excellent, Susan, truly ... big hug of thanks for the fun, the generous points, and the cents! ~ Richard : )

Both children and adults still "young at heart" will delight in this flawless story-in-a-poem (Tribus Octo) of faeries cavorting in a flowery meadow. Superb, and well-matched to its illustration.

Hi Mike, thank you for this awesome review!!! I think I made the corrections. I can't use "sublime" because it's not a true line..I did change that line though. Thanks again for your kind words. Always appreciated.

You are most welcome. I see your corrections, but the system won't let me alter my review accordingly because I have no spare Sixes (a programming error). I'll change it as soon as I have my next allotment.

Mother Nature loving her kingdom in fairyland as well as being nosey. :) This is a good story that can be read for children of all ages (like me.) You paint a picture with the words you have penned. This is a good entry for the Story Poem contest.

I love how your poem flows. I can smell the flowers. I imagine what spring truly looks like by reading your poem. It's spring now but where I live, it's either cold or hot, never an in between. Keep up the good work.
