Hahahaha - too true! So is the phrase, "Golden Age" false advertising. But will anyone listen before they get to that age? Nnnn-oooo. *grin* You've got a big "amen" from me. :)))

Hi Yvette :)
I completely agree...if only I'd listened to my Grandad when he said 'don't grow up, Debra, it's not all it's cracked up to be!'
Great entry for the contest.
Best wishes, Debra :)

LOL! :) ;) You and me both... can we just go back or maybe just 'take it from here' with the 'right' attitude?!! LOL! ;) ;) Thanx for stopping in on this one, Debra -- so sorry I'm running behind life's crazy and fate threw a wrench into the works this week.....June will be here and there's always caramel and ice cream for stress relief, right?!! :) You take care out there! Yvette

Great use of metaphor and very good warning for young people about struggles of adulthood and they certainly don't want to rush into it. Read Review mine also.liberty justice

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem and a warning to young ones that they must be aware of the false advertisement of the joy of adulthood, that is when the worries and troubles start.

Amen! Lol. Love your humor! Thanks for the chuckles. But then again, perhaps we need to have the young folks believe in the joys of responsibility so that we older folks can have some peace of mind.

This 5-7-5, Please Don't Buy Into the Lies!, has the right set up and notes a dissatisfied member cautioning newcomers to the hardships of accountability and expectation.

Nope. No 'Amen' here! I like not having to ask permission to eat cookies or take the car wherever I choose. Sure, there's trade-offs (bills, deadlines, responsibilities), but in my assessment, I'm way ahead as a grown-up. Still, I love this 5-7-5 and hope you do well in the contest. xo

I really like how you brought together the photo (scam alert) and poem to express a message.
I remember I couldn't wait to grow up, and now I sometimes think about what it would be like to be a kid again without the worries and responsibilities of adulthood (LOL).
A great contest entry!

This is clever and so true in so many ways. The young can't wait to grow up and the old would given almost anything to be young again. Good luck in the contest.
