I'm so glad you shared this information about the goanna. I'd never heard of them before (as an inhabitant of Upstate NY and someone who's afraid of flying, I had no need!) They are QUITE the impressive species (thank goodness the 8'2" one is shy!)

Thanks Willie. And thanks for setting up this prompt. I noticed when I set up my entry it treated my poem as if it was a story, and tried to run my poem to the right of the photo (which appears smaller than it would if it was in poetry mode. So I had to put my poem under the photo by clicking down some empty lines. Maybe you told the contest to be a story rather a poem contest? Cheers and thanks.

This poem is a lot of fun with all these creatures in your dream whilst camping is more like a nightmare! No wonder you wanted to wake up! I enjoyed your rhymes and the first few stanzas flowed so well and these are my favourite, love Dolly x
