What a great memory to have and how wonderful that fifteen years later you have this lovely photograph to remember the day. Our nephew (Catholic) married a Jewish lass and the wedding combined elements from both religions. It was a fantastic day for all involved. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you, Judy! I appreciate this feedback. And I hope your nephew and his lass are enjoying married life as a 'diverse' couple, too.

Dear mystery author,
I'm dying to know if that's a real photo, of course! So funny, especially with what your notes point out.
This poem kept me laughing all the way through, but I really liked the ending, taking us back to reality and the many difficult rides we take through married life.
Well done!

It is a real photo of my husband and me! Between that and our leopard bedroom, he is the undisputed Best Sport Husband in the All World.
Thank you for the very nice review.

This is a great memory to have. What is even greater is that your two very different religions didn't keep you apart. Just another example of love conquering all. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in the contest.

Now if only my in-laws would get on this same wave of ours, Boogienights!!

I would be afraid of falling if someone picked me up like that so props to you for having the trust in them to not drop you. I would be the husband in the picture, only I would be holding on with two hands. My husband and I just had our four year wedding anniversary. Finding the right person is amazing. I hope you and your husband have another 15 plus years together

Hahaha. I do understand what you're saying, ExperiencingLiphe. I think, having grown up seeing this tradition at every Bar and Bat Mitzvah I attended as well as every wedding, and having never seen any catastrophes, it just never dawned on me that it could be unnerving.
Congratulations on four wonderful years. May you have a lifetime more! Thank you for your really nice review. xo

This was a fun piece, mystery writer. I love the expression on the poor groom's face wondering what the hell is going on? From your writing it sounds like it's a fun tradition and perfect to match the happy emotions of a wedding. If that's the worst he felt during the marriage, you're in great shape! Well written and good luck in the contest.

Well, it was definitely the worst he felt that DAY, but I'm pretty certain I've seen that expression on his face countless other times throughout our ensuing fifteen years!

There are many religions and in many respects, people are about the same. I just remember my son proposing to the love of his life. He propose to her on the shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota. After my son and his intended bride returned to my cabin, Nick took a long nap and his new fiancé helped me wheelbarrow gravel. They have three children now and I still remember that day, about fifteen years ago. Best wishes.

This is a lovely thought/memory set into a poem! What a beautiful bride high upon the seat of honor. It's a wonderful way to honor and preserve a special day for whoever is in this photo!

This is a lovely memory for you too share and your husband must be so proud as you acknowledge him is this way also. Hope it does well in the memories competition.
Could only find three snags firstly the to bald blokes kissing in the background not appropriate lol and your face is hidden just a glimpse of your beautiful red hair from you ancient Celtic roots. A brilliant memory thanks for sharing with us. Kind regards Colin XX

My husband is still trying to get over that fright, Colin! That traumatized him forever.
And there were two bald blokes kissing in the background?! I've got to go back and re-examine this photo!
And I don't think Celtic roots are responsible for that red hair! I'm German and French (or so I've been told. Maybe somebody has some 'splainin' to do!!)
Thanks for the hilarious review.
-
Yes German and French make the grade,Red heads were special but don't read what the Romans thought and did to them. Normans were Vikings and were Germanic also lol.I have loads in my family from my Norman and Germanic roots..and Celtic lol X
-
Uh-oh!! You've just changed the trajectory of my entire life here this morning, Colin. xo
-
Ha ha , they may not have been Celts but it's usually the rule of thumb,my side intermarried around the 1000 mark and before between scandinavia down to normandy with the Scots and Irish who were Celts if you see what I mean. Red heads are found mostly here but were from Europe and Vise-versa.It's all complicated even the English were Yankees lol. X
-
Oh my. No wonder people are so into this DNA tests these days! Thanks for the interesting share here, Colin.
-
OMG, Colin - I just re-checked the picture, and you're RIGHT!! Those bald guys in the back, just flagrantly kissing like that! SHAMELESS!! (I want it on the record: they're on my HUSBAND's side, not mine.)
-
Ha ha,please don't let it spoil the picture, OMG sorry, but I could not resist. lol x
-
Are you kidding? It makes me love the picture a hundred times more!!!
-
Ha ha phew xx

What a great picture. And you thought up a really plausible explanation for the grooms terrified expression. But perhaps, being heavier than his lovely bride, he did have more concern about being dropped. Great job with the story poem. Best wishes in the contest!

Plus, his four chair-holders weren't as sturdy and athletic as mine! That definitely factored in.
Thanks, Iyenochka, for this delightful review. I loved it. xo
