This is a sad poem about a woman who has known nothing else but a nunnery and this was a sad fact for many women years ago, glad this does not happen to women today, a fine write, love Dolly x

I am moved by this poem. Here is a girl committed to a life that was chosen for her. Your verses on the emotions felt, as she watched the young lovers , are tenderly told.

Starts out well, then focuses on sins of the flesh, I don't doubt nuns have those thoughts but I Believe and hope they focus on their Love of service to God. Good Luck in the contest and may God Bless you.

I think Sister Claire is obedient and serves the Lord willingly. But she is also human and realizes what she has missed out on?simple romance. One wonders if she was ever kissed by a boy her age. Many thanks for sharing my poem.

I never have thought about the yens of nuns. . .I think I always thought they had made their choice of loving Jesus and only Jesus and they were happy. I must confess though, the grass is not greener on the other side. There are many in sheep's clothing that makes this scene, precious in every woman's eyes. . .but never realized by them. There aren't enough loving men in the world or enough men understanding how to love in the world. Wonder what that's all about? Beautifully written, but a little sad.

Yes, sad for women like a Sister Claire who had the decision made for them by a father. Thank you for sharing my poem and your kind praise.

A very well-written heartfelt and sad poem. Many girls were sent to the nunnery for many years when the parents were unable to take care of the girls. They miss out on many adventures in their lives.

Wow -- a great depiction of a situation of isolation ... one accepted by the young lady with her obedience well-demonstrated... I've often wondered what it is, beyond the vow of obedience, keeps a cloistered nun in her position especially as you say here she can view other lives outside her window... beautifully done and a very unique contest offering! :) Best of luck at the polls! :)
