I gave this six because of its sheer ingenuity, content, and candid accuracy. I like everything that you had to say here. It was all relevant, to the point, clear, concise, and meaningful. I love the way that you ended, with a lovely little rhyme.
By the way, if you love Limericks, you would probably especially enjoy my Biographical Limerick Suite in my portfolio, in the book Titled,
"Limericks", with the title of Irish
Again, this is short, but packs a punch. I see no room for improvement. as this is perfect in content. I like your sense of humor, when you say
" I don't know a meter from an inch." This is one of those that when read, the reader thinks to themselves,
"Why didn't I think of that"!
Blessings,
Brother Badger Cull

This was a wonderful prologue. Once you are you and are comfortable sharing your thoughts poetically or otherwise you're a winner. I look forward to reading your poems. Good luck to you.

This was, indeed, a fun read :) I love both your honesty and the humor. For the record, I, too love Bob Seger, for his songs consist of poetic deepness centered around life and love.
I look forward to reading many more chapters of this wonderful creation you are putting together.

I'd never hold a rhyme against you (unless you said you had a beautiful rhyme and wanted it held against you) and I like this clever intro to your poetry book. It's honest and not over dramatized (as are poems by people that take it all way too seriously).
I look forward to your future endeavors!

Hi earl,
I have to tell you that I really agree with your views on poetry - not necessarily the spiritual aspect but spot on with the others.
if a poem doesn't make you feel - what's the point of it. you need to be moved.
good introduction to the book.
Limericks automatically gets a sixer. - get.

I love Weird Al Yankovitch. I love the parodies and fun mockery...if it's the food for thought mockery is the crockery...I rhymed. I free verse all the time and have rhyme in it. I'm trying to write limericks. I love the Irish flair of them. I love your honesty ....where's the rhyme for honesty? Honestly!
God bless..I loved it

I guess my favorite Silverstein was Rosalie's Good Eats Café...I like classic poetry and if I ever tried to write poetry, it would have meter and rhymes.
I actually came here to learn skills to write SF prose, but it turned out to be a nifty social club for a retired geezer...interesting post.

I find this writing to be revealing and interesting.
You have defined your likes and dislikes clearly;
so I can relate as well as agree on most.
Your brief well rhymed poem seals the deal.
Great job overall.

I love this simply because you don't give a damn about others limitations or opinions on your poetry and ultimately that's how it should be. Poets primarily write for themselves and as a form of expression so then if it connects with others that's a bonus in my eyes. You carry on writing the way you love to write. There are all different kinds of poets and zillions of types of poems so you just do YOU! X
