A very descriptive Free Verse poem about the sights encountered at Brickell Bay. I smille at the ticking clock (good onomatopoeia) and dozing off. Seems like an easygoing day.

Hi Alicia. This is a very nicely composed free verse poem. Love the image and the setting. Your words give the reader a verbal image also. You've set the scene for a tranquil mood. Good work. Marilyn

I love this poem, Alicia. It makes me want to be in Florida reflecting on Brickell Bay. It sounds like a terrific way to spend Easter. I hope you're having a great time!

"And I am lost from reflection" ... terrific line. Love the double entendre here. As the neighbor swims and makes ripples, your reflection in the water is lost, also you stop reflecting on things and watch her and the seagull. Very clever!

The only thing I'm not sure about is "I am awoken". I'm thinking that "awoken" is past tense. How about "I am awakened"? (just a suggestion). Still it doesn't detract from the great mood you've set with this piece.

Happy Easter, Alicia!

Hugs,
Connie

A nice mood poem which plays with two meanings of reflection both the feeling of deep in thought as well as the reflection of the water. I like the tick-tock of the crow whose eating is like the passage of time. And the poem ends with the flying by of the seagull. Nice!

What inviting photographs! I am delighted you are having a pleasant Easter Sunday. We too had a crow visiting this morning looking for crumbs, along with the usual flapping seagulls. Enjoy the Bay views and Florida's sunshine. Big smiles- Joan

-Very nice image and
presentation, Sunnilicious.
-The imagery is vivid and
paints a good word
picture of the scene.
-The first verse is a
good description of the setting.
-Effective nature imagery
and a very good conclusion,
as you are "lost from reflection."
-Good luck in the contest.

Hi Dolly! Brickell Bay is a community overlooking Biscayne Bay in Downtown Miami, Florida. It's a nice place. About a 2-hr drive away from Key West and 1-hr drive away from Everglades. Beach and boats are probably the best things to do year round. You're nice. Thank you. Hugs, Alicia :)
