I like that the nonet tells a story, an unusual one. I see the little beaver hard at work - "alone, he works on his mission." And I have a sense of the poet enjoying this story play out with admiration and delight.

Thanks for the insightful review and sparkly stars. Yes, the little guy is right outside my window. I saw a little stack of sticks and wondered where they came from, then I saw him waddling around. Going to check the pond to see if his parents are there. I wanted to use a real photo, but he is quite elusive. Bless. j

Baby Beaver, I am guessing you like beavers as you have written a nonet on one. An enjoyable one at that as I appreciate the word - smile - at the end. It seemed to have a contagious effect. I did ponder on the word - waddle - though as that is more a way of walking on land but if the baby beaver is on land collecting sticks and not floating on the water then it works.
Thank you for sharing and good luck in the competition. ~DD

Thanks for the review. It is the weirdest thing that this little beaver is alone and stacked some sticks beside my house. He does indeed waddle around the lawn and has made himself a little den in the big rocks. I know that they have family units, so I wonder where the parents are. A picture of the little dude would have been nice to accompany this poem, but he is also somewhat elusive. Cheers, j

J, how cute to have the baby beaver so close to home but sad at the same time as baby beaver is away from parents, alone. It is amazing how they know what to do instinctively. ~DD

There is a pond nearby that I will check tomorrow. He is supposed to be working alongside his father as apprentice at this stage. How cute is that? Cheers, j

Cute poem. Well written with great picture. That type of poem is not easy to write. Good luck in the contest. Not many poems about beavers.Happy Easter.

Thanks for the review. I can see him from my window and wonder where the parents are. I think he missed the class to build the dams on water, bless. Cheers, j
