I love your idea of a limerick. I usually find them crass. I see no need for that. You refresh that conviction for me. I like your use of onomatopoeia. It is fun. You can really hear the snare drum or a piliated woodpecker or a dolphin. You invite the reader to do more research on the dolphin. This is a nice tribute using personification for this curious creature of the deep. I admire anyone who can write a decent limerick and you have accomplished this.

Oh, I'm so glad you enjoyed my 'Ambassadorial' write here, Liz.... you know, I had written a double limerick (where he had a girlfriend) and had to re-do it... This is fun verse and a funny illustration.
Your dolphin diplomat has excellent credentials for outwitting those wharf rats (in our current climate, you might substitute 'politician' LOL).

The Baldwin family of mammals are most certainly the cleverest creatures to bless the oceans, along with, of course, the beautiful octopus.
I guess that Baldwin's best mates, keep a clear distance from his girlfriend, Kenya...
