Hi Donna -

You did an awesome job with your Sapphonic Triad! I love the quote that you chose by Eisenhower. It sets the perfect tone for the balance of this poem. You should do more of these :)

Very well said. Great use of the quote and relating the following lines and the ending was uplifting and hopeful. Great poem for Patriot's Day. Much enjoyed.

A very wel-written Sapphonic Triad from a great quote that makes many believe that we have to fight for peace. Lives are lost and many are scarred visibly or mentally and we still not having peace.

This is a great poem! Good job communicating the unfortunate necessity of war. I love that you shared the quote that I suppose must have inspired you to write this. Good job!

I love Eisenhower's quote; war will always exist, nothing is going to change in the future, war is just part of life these days, I am just thankful I have escaped being involved in it, a poignant write here and food for thought, love Dolly x

The old general has been notoriously short of quotes, but that one is sadly factual, you'll have no peace in this world unless people fear you a little.
An excellent Sapphonic Triad...I like those, partly for the quotes...

Hi Dove,

From your pen to God's eyes, seriously! I read an article yesterday stating our country has only been at peace for 16 years of its existence. Shocking fact, hu? But I am sure the chickenhawks raking in billions more from the profits don't mind... Thanks for a lovely thought: peace. Imagine how great our infrastructure would be if all those trillions were spent improving our own country? Jan...

I've never heard that quote before, really brings home how stupid war is, doesn't it. Thanks for introducing me to the sapphonic triad; I'd never encountered that form of poetry before. May wisdom prevail in the future and peace last long!

I'm not sure we have moved to peace and wisdom. Far from it...it's more dangerous now we have bigger toys and more widespread enemies..
Peace is precious and it needs defending
Great art work.
God bless

Dear kiwijenny, I agree with you, I don't think we have moved toward peace and wisdom yet. I went over my poem, and changed that line toward the future. If you like, you can go in and read it again and see if it makes better sense. Dove
