Ha, ha. That raised a smile on my face. Flash fiction usually depends on a good culminating twist, and you got one here :)
Oh, and my father actually was a cook in the World War II -- I never asked him if he killed anyone, though.

Thanks for the laugh on this beautiful spring morning. I'm an old Vietnam vet and have experienced a few of those meals..LOL.
But, basically, unless you were on the front-line, we were very well fed.
