A very well-written poem about the winds of spring that starts to blow and brings the rain that make the new sprouts grow and become green so that the flowers can bloom.

I like this poem. It's a good description of the gentle winds in spring when the cold dies and everything begins to warm. The line about kids going to school feels a bit weird to me though, since it isn't really a metaphor or anything like the 2nd stanza, and there isn't really a leading up to it, so to me it feels kind of random and kind of takes away from your natural descriptions.

DM,
A perfect poem for this time of the year. *smile* We have had the craziest weather here; temps in the 40s one day and in the 80s the next. I'm ready for SPRING! haha! This was lovely!

Nice poem. Right now we are sitting in an RV park in Hawthorne Nevada - experiencing winds that feel as if they're going to blow us away. It's bright an sunny right now, but...this is April ! and at home in Central Oregon, it's still snowing - good grief.
I'm ready for spring. You speak so kindly of that time, but I think this year we might "spring" right into perhaps a few days of summer - least that's how it feels.
One line of your poem stopped me: "with the winds of spring come ocean calm"
Oceans to me speak of waves and turbulence - not sure that's the right picture. Just a thought.
I did enjoy the poem. Hope you keep on with your writing. I'm sure enjoying this fan story site.

Hard to rank this. I think "spring" is...overrated, or almost impossible to say anything fresh about or something, so a poem touting to be about spring really has to say something special to this person. I like the March winds bee's sting line but think the repeat of the word "wind" in the first and second lines needs to be avoided somehow.
Thanks. It's about 35 degrees outside and we are supposed to get snow tomorrow -- so much for spring!

This is a great visual for your story, but it does remind me a bit of pollen flying through the air. Spring is my favorite season. It can go either way as you say, "Warm mixed with cool." Good job!

I liked this read a lot, Dovemarie. Great imagery really brought this one to life. The rhyme scheme really made it a smooth and easy read. Nice job.

It's almost as if winter hangs on for grim death and the March winds doth blow and we shall have snow! Spring should bring respite in April and the winds should die down, I felt the bluster here in your poem, love Dolly x
