Love your colorful, smiley picture and short verse poetry. You know, I love to smile and laugh and this is downright infectious! A wonderful entry for the contest.

I wish I had six stars to give you! This is priceless! How do you come up with these gems consistently, lol?
The flow of the meaning is like an instruction book. Paint...then what you paint with...then what you use to accent your painting. Love the different colors and the illustration fits perfectly. One more thing... I think it's very intelligent to use the word you were twice, to emphasize that we have some control of what we contribute to the world. Thanks for this great poem!

Yvette,

For verse, illustration, and colors you deserve a six. Your verse paints 'a-one'derful image, which we all can easily appreciate and agree with.

But since I am, on a personal style basis, not agreeable to your capitalization used for the same, I downgraded it.

FS should allow for plus and minus designations for their ratings. Then you would have earned at minimum a 6 or 6 minus. LOL with my new rating system.

My reasoning is twofold:
- it is short and the caps don't add to the flow of your verse (my mind pauses when I see the cap at the start of the line); your lovely verse is one streaming thought IMHO - whether you consider this as a one-liner or not.
- if you deem this is a complete sentence, then it needs a period and some caps will change

It is your choice, as my Ms. Poetess reviewer, whether 'smile' should be plural. Again, as creator, you know what your intent was in composing this contest entry. My guess is you will get many, many votes for this fine piece of writing. Your selected illustration will surely entice members to review.

Mark

    Mea culpa Yvette!

The overnight cycle just came in. My foot is still stuck in my mouth about my remarks for your verse. My comments were way out of bounds as I allowed a personal bias to wangle into my review.

Regardless of my impropriety, your poem will get great reviews from others because of the quality of words and not its punctuation or capitalization.

Such creative choices of words, Yvette! I like that you use the metaphor of painting and accenting to decorate the world with laughter and smiles. It's so true that when we bring levity and approval, the world looks so much brighter!

This 1-5-7, Perpetual Sunshine, has the syllables in the right place and proceeds from the idea that people positively resond to a smiling face.

Hah! Yvette!
This has been my mantra all of my life! When I was a little girl, my nickname was "Smiley!" And laughter was/is/has been second nature to me- so much so that my mother wanted to send me to a finishing school to learn to "laugh like a lady!" :) Well, that didn't happen!
Love your message and presentation!
Best Wishes!

Hooray! :) :) Now you still have the laugh that infects a room rather than the one that makes someone's skin crawl....!! :) ;) LOL! :) Love that infectious laughter -- it shows through on your profile pic as well, Lady D, the new one and the older one! :) ;) Take care up there and thanx for stopping by (as always!)! :) ;) Yvette
