Oh did I like this TV show. You did a terrific job composing a good story about Paladin and the old west(ern genre).

And yep, there were criminals who justice made them danglers. Lol

Rhyming is spot on throughout - liked especially words and rhymes for:

buffoon craw 45 scat moot pell mell

In the TV ads for cigarettes, there were the 'Pall Mall' western themes. (-:

The end result turned out great, except for the gunfighter being hung. Saw it coming though. I grew up on a steady diet of John Wayne. I saw True Grit so many times, I've lost count. Paladin looks familiar, but no bells ring.

You've lassoed a win for the contest, partner.

I'm watching The Virginian right now...I better skedaddle.

Earl,

No offense, but you chose Richard Boone over JOHN WAYNE??? OMS, buddy, them's close to fighting words, where I come from... but, since we're friends and all, I'll leave it lay for now.

The poem was fine and enjoyable. It's just your thinking that I worry about... My, my.

I knew I wanted to do an outlaw and a gunfighter and to me John Wayne is a straight up hero. Thanks for reading and reviewing. You don't have to worry about my thinking.

Well, this is a very entertaining story wrapped up in a poem. I remember this TV show. Paladine was so serious, never smiled. And then you killed him off! Poor Paladine. :) Good luck with the poetry contest.

Interesting rhymes!

Some lines seem to fall out of rhythm and need more or fewer syllables. For example, "Now he's dead" needs more--maybe "Now the fella's dead."

I like the ending.

Hi Earl,

This is a fun poem about things that happen in the Western shows and movies. Having watched all the episodes of Gunsmoke recently, I think you mentioned a lot of my favorites. You definitely rhymed a lot in this poem.

Best wishes in the contest.

What a fun jaunt into the life of a gunfighter in the Old West -- not too detailed or messy, but upbeat and enjoyable ... great offering for the contest! :) :) Thanx for sharing and good luck! :) ;)

A very well-written western poem. The days of the cowboys in the wild west was a time non was without a gun to be ready for self defense at any given moment was the key to survive.

Oh no. . .that can't be! Paladin is my hero you see!
This was fun to read. I remember Paladin. . .but I didn't remember he being a bad guy. Nicely written and fun to read, a little like going down memory lane. The best of luck with this piece.

This work has reached the exceptional level

At warning at 6 because of its ease in Reading your successful use of idioms and phrases and the writing was impeccable I enjoyed this owed it took me on boat trip and you introduced me to some phrases I had almost forgotten about like Pell Mell. I especially like the end, dangle and jangle,
perfect.

Blessings,

Brother Badger
