I love this so much. It not only brings me back to times with my grandparents at our family home on the lake, but I myself am not a "Nannie" and my grandchildren are the loves of my life. I love building memories with them.

I really enjoyed writing this poem because it describes my wife?s relationship with her granddaughter and niece so well. Enjoy your memory making and many thanks for your kind praise. Rod

Congratulations on taking on the persona of Melanie and winning the contest with memories of grandma's garden. I admired your rhymed quatrains and all of the references to the specific, beautiful flowers. The artwork you selected reinforced the images in your poem well. Big cheers- Joan

Thank you so much for sharing GRANDMAS GARDEN, Joan, and your very kind praise. It was fun to assume Melanie?s persona and my wife?s garden provided all the specific flora. Rod

Hi Rod. Congratulations on winning the contest with this nice poem. Gardeners are proud of their gardens (and their grandchildren). It's nice when the two things combine. I particularly like stanzas 3, 4, 5. Nicely penned. Marilyn

This is such a sweet poem. The times with a grand parent are often happiest memories, especially when doing something fun like gardening.
Your poem conveys that special time.
Great rhyme and meter for a pleasant read.

I love this. It's so sweet. I miss spending time with my grandma. This makes me want to call her and tell her how much I love her. Very well written. I loved it.

Very nice. It sounds like you and your cousin helped create a Garden of Eden. Always wanted a garden full of flowers but never got around to it. I have 14 grandchildren, but with them scattered around the country, I never get to see them. I think that's why I treasure the memories of my own grandmother so much.

This is a nice written sentimental poem about a great and memorable subject that I can relate to. On little snag: Quotation marks are needed to end your quote: "Can use the help...... This poem was easy to read and flowed naturally.
Blessings,
Brigitte

I enjoyed the journey to grandma's garden. I got a pretty clear picture in my head of all that was to be seen there. It seemed there was a lot of work to be done, yet it seemed it would be a lot of fun (rhyme not intentional :)...Good job on a good read!

Hello anon, this is so lovely. A beautiful poem and so well written. Good rhyme and meter and the content written in a 'folksy' way that made it sound so real. You maintained the story in good rhyme throughout - this will take some beating in the contest. Good Luck - warm regards Dorothy
