Your. Even-the-odds poemgives us both a glimpse of the man and his music. I am impressed by how much info you conveyed in this wierd-shaped poem. I learned quite a bit, especially about his style. Rod

You used the required form very well to write this brief, yet important, story of Beethoven's life. It is unimaginable that he was able to create so much beauty in elegant detail in spite of incredible physical and emotional pain. Or, perhaps, because of it. Either way - the gift lives on.

Thanks for putting this to words, and sharing it.

Judy

Very good point, Judy - was it because of or in spite of the tortures that were inflicted upon him? Great review - as warm and encouraging as it is thought-provoking. I appreciate it very much.

This is a well done "Even the Odds" poem because it tells an interesting story in a smooth manner while sticking within the strict syllable-count restrictions. Thank you for teaching me facts I didn't know about Beethoven. Good luck in the contest.

A very well-written even-the-odds poem and a great topic choice about the music of Beethoven that still is the no 1 choice in learning students that art of playing piano. From darkness there can become new life.
