Oh, how I agree about the challenge of this style, Janice! I cannot tell you how many times I counted and re-counted and then re-counted again [when I erased words, would that be considered "discounted"?] in order to ensure I hadn't made a mistake that would get me disqualified! So it means a lot to me that you think this turned out well. Thank you for the positive reinforcement.

Lol. Well, you can trust me when I tell you that I counted and re-counted and re-counted SO many times that I can guarantee the count is perfect! But when you get your sideways line of sight, you can double-check for me just in case.

I think of Beethoven as inspiring. He had so many tortures, and yet he refused to shrivel up and go away. Instead, he powered through and honored his talent and brought us such beautiful compositions.

The poem itself felt rather dry to me, as if you were simply making a statement or reciting some sliver of history from Wikipedia.
But, that's just my opinion, there's nothing technically wrong with the poem.

Someday, though, when you're on Jeopardy and get asked whether Beethoven was in the Classical or Baroque period, you are going to answer with the utmost confidence, "NEITHER!!!! I love this and I can't imagine how hard that was for him to lose his hearing...poor guy but he did not give up ...makes me admire him even more

At least it saved him from hearing your painful joke there, Kiwijenny! But as long as we're on that track: Do you know why Beethoven killed all his chickens? Because he sick to death of hearing them say, "Bach, Bach, Bach." hahahaha.

This is very well written! I find the red on black a bit too scary though for its presentation as I don't think he was all that 'evil' as the colours suggest, but apart from that, the poem reads very well and written at a rather professional level. I like you picture choice too. You've described Beethoven's life quite well with all your choices and descriptions. I'm sure there's lessons to be learned from his life but he did make it big by investing in his talents but was in need of deliverance from his bondages that in a way stole his life which is very sad; his life then given through his music to us, but poor fellow, I wonder if he had much life of his own--. Those are my thoughts. Intriguing and thought provoking. Good descriptions.

I appreciate your opinion on that very much, though, and hope you will never be shy about letting me know things of this nature.
