I enjoyed your continual metaphor of obstacles in nature, and the bridges we use to cross them, representing the obstacles we face in our own lives and try to overcome. I appreciate the optimism shown by "Seasonal waters ... bringing refreshing new life," and, of course, the last line about "Trust[ing] in the Lord that all will be fine." I was particularly impressed by the imagery you used in "a downhill life pathway t'was cut by God's knife."

We all approach points in our lives where choices must be made. And, your poem points out so well that choices are not easy. Crossing the bridge carries promise and hope, but so often also results in pain, loss and regret. Some bridges are not of our own making - but no less do they require some part of us as the cost of transit. I feel your poem acknowledging the angst, yet stepping forward with trust. Thank you for sharing.

A very well-written free verse poem about the bridges in our lives. Each bridge we build is to overcome a problem or obstacle in our life that needs a new direction on the other side of the bridge.

I enjoyed this read very much. As our lives take us over new bridges along our way may we freely forgive others and keep confessing our own sins. Your work is beautifully presented. Patricia
