This is so lovely, just as a lune should be. Your last line is the perfect summation for your first two. And, your coloring and presentation are perfect as well.
Your fine work should take the prize. Good luck.

I could tell that it was yours, Yvette. It was too good not to be.

Aachoo. Goldenrod and I do not love each other, though a field of the stuff is visually striking...this looks like a sound and proper Lune entry for the contest.
My old yard maple is covered with opening buds all ruby red...

Excellent image that you produce through this writing. That is a very creative way to view that scene which I had never thought of. Thanks for sharing your creativity in this unique poem.

There is no limit to your imagination and wit, is there! This is wonderful, Yvette -- truly an inspiration. spring is my favorite season, and in one tiny poem you have managed to make me excited about it's arrival this week!

You're very welcome.

A field or paddock covered in blossoms certainly heralds spring and does indeed look like a carpet. I don't have any suggestions that would enhance your engaging piece. Good luck in the contest.

Like this Lune format for your goldenrod coloring. My go-to verse is 575, so I may need to consider Lune.
'goldenrod carpet' is a wonderful allusion that you reinforced with your text color
unsure if you need caps for anything, or consider 'WELCOME mat' as we often 'see' it on the porch of homes
Spring is obvious, but 'March' or 'May' can be alternatives to be more descriptive for your 'timing.'
best wishes in this prompt entry.

I liked this read. I like when poems look at things in a different way and this is one of those. A great vision to see a welcome mat ushering in spring. Nice job.
