This is not only a haunting image it is also very sad and all too true.
You have captured the emotion of fear well here in so very few words, Anonymous Poet.

This poignant verse memorializes the tragedy they just occurred in New Zealand.
'War no more' should be '(automatic) guns no more!'' We would then live in a more peaceful world.

Heavenly Father, grace the hearts of the world with power to pray earnestly for our Muslim brothers and sisters. We are one brotherhood, let not anger and misguided
hatred win. No child should die for something his little hand had no part in. This is a wonderful contest entry and I wish you luck!

Topical and tragic. Living in NZ as I do, this monostitch really spoke to me with its poignant image of the cars waiting for their drivers, who will never arrive.

Thanks for your comments LisaMay. I am so sorry for the suffering in your country. I think this has hit the whole word very hard.

Out of the tragedy such an outpouring of support is heartening. Doing an atrocity in peaceful NZ is like pulling the heads off kittens.

This really hit home. I hadn't thought about such a happening but I'm sure there would have been a lot of abandoned cars. Your entry should do well. Good luck.

Dear Author,
Your Monostitch: 2 contest entry is sad because cats are not feral but they are abandoned. Beautiful picture but sad thought!
My best,
Deborah

A very well-written Monostich poem about the cars that stand abandoned after the massacre at the mosque in New Zealand. A very true but also extremely sad story.

You've written an excellent, timely one line poem
that touches on the sadness that permeates the world.
A stark reminder of the underlying tremors of hatred.
Respectful done

Hi Contest Author,
This is quite a unique take on the monostich contest. It is a powerful write that brings readers up short, pointing up the finality for now 50 innocent victims.
Best of luck and thanks for sharing.

This was inspired by a news item that I read today about cars in the car park of the mosque. Thanks for reviewing.
