I see what an animal lover you are. I have a dog via my grandkids. He comes and stays here--along for the visit. He is part Fremch Poodle and part Bichon Frise.
Animals are much like people, we need to be loved to grow and thrive. I enjoyed your sweet poem.
All my best,

Ciao Mystery poet, I gave you your 3rd vote.
Your poem is on a topic that means a lot to me .
I have a friend that has spent her life trying to save strays and abandon cats .
She has asked me often to help out ..bottle feeding newborn , taming feral cats in the hope to find them a home..
The credulity towards pets is another sad reality .. Starving them , left on a short chain outside without adequate shelter , beatings etc
...dogs are so called man's best friend...it's a shame that too many people are instead dogs worse enemy .

Ah, so sad, it is heartbreaking how some animals get treated and your poem conveys this well. The ending lines reiterates the opening to help reinforce that message. Enjoyed reading it, very powerful.

This was a good read. I can tell this is dear to your heart. It's such a tragedy how some people treat innocent animals and throw them away. Nice job and good luck in the contest.

You have written a very sad and poignant cinquain poem and good entry for the competition.
Check your third line, I have counted 7 syllables and there should be 6. Good luck. Jen.

I will check, but I thought I counted them correctly. Thank you for the stars and the review. Very much appreciated!

You were right. I accidentally put in the put down the article "the", which I had not in the original scribble I wrote down. Thanks for catching that!

My pleasure. I am sure you would do the same for me. Jen. X

Not sure I would need to.
