I do understand. As I near the big 80, the years ahead are a lot scary. What's to happen? But God... If I did not know that God charts my days and years, and that He will receive me into heaven in His time, I'd be even more frightened. Two of my brothers died so young - will never know till heaven why - and perhaps not then. For me, keeping the brain active (while my body aches and moans) is a big, big help. And Fanstory is one of the helpers for me. Blessings.

I completely relate to this and feel the same way. I have trouble just walking now, it's very depressing. I get scared too when I think about how each day that goes by gets me closer to dying. Still, I have my children and my poetry. Thankful for what I have but wish I could stop time. Thanks for sharing this, it really touched my heart.

Very nicely written. The words are simple yet they mean so much! Fear is something everyone faces, no matter at what age. But once we manage to come out of it, we can then see the true meaning of life. Good luck in this entry. Your poem is a very touching one!

your poem broke my heart...my mother is 89 years old...she just lost my father who was 89...and your poem reminds me of her...I know she is scared...my father always told us to love our family and friends...they would be there for us at the end...very well written...but so sad...picture says it all...very well written Rondel form...good luck in the contest...love Linda xxoo
