Well you did it and it actually reminded me of Ovid writing about the destruction of Pompeii in the original Latin. I haven't even looked at that for about 66 years but it all came back to me reading this splendid little dactylic number. You have risen magnificently to the challenge.

A very well-written dactyl poem. According to your notes your dactyllic meter is perfectly executed. It is a very different meter style and it seems even harder than iambic that I still sometimes not completely master.

As much as I try, I still cannot wrap my head around the poetic terms of iambic, trochaic, anapestic and dactylic

And I concur: I can't get enough either. I love poetry, too. I enjoy the many forms and that it is so often free of any convention -- leaving the author completely free to express in any form, or even made-up words.

A great accomplishment. The reader gets pulled into the rhythm on line one and the texts just races along on the very specific beat of the dactyl.
It is an addictive form and I have always felt that it lends itself to lighter, perhaps more satirical, writing. This piece is cleverly done: you have met the challenge posed to you well.
