It is both ironic and fitting that she bring flowers on the day he
breaks the vase. It was nice of him to try and fix it. But it seemed it
was more to keep him out of trouble than to make her feel good.
Now he has to fess up

I enjoyed this very much, I especially liked the part when he is thinking about the glue as I have done the same. Then when you wrapped it all up in the end to go along with the vase never having any flowers was great. Well done.

You are very welcome, Brigitte, and congratulations on the 3rd place finish. It was a good story. The ending depends on the age of the guy. My feeling when reading it is he was the son, and it was his mother's vase. From the sound of how he fixed it, I think it would have been noticeable, but then again, maybe she was so taken with the flowers that she wouldn't have noticed!

Good try. I can't imagine the look of that vase when fixed. Least you tried. Even with all your effort it probably would still leak. Hope she had another container for the flowers. Fun story.
